    Hello, Looking to make a simple vector candle flame and would like to give it some life with a bit of flickering and typical candle movement. Wondering if someone could point me in the right direction here? I could start from real candle flame footage and then try to simplify it down with posterize or something but would rather have more control over the look, shape and feel of the flame. Thanks.

    Turbulent Displace will get you a lot of good, natural movement on the flame.

    Wow, at first glance it does look like that would be a really good distort effect for this. Would there be a way to set some randomizer on some of the parameters for that effect? Something like…

    seedRandom(6);
    wiggle(.8,15);

    on the different parameters?

    If you animate the evolution, you don’t necessarily need to animate the other parameters.

    Ah yes! And then maybe there could be a couple layers of flame with some slight random opacity or something.
