Flickering that occurs in cross dissolves after compression in FCP 6
Help! After I compress a sequence with cross dissolves of images (JPEG) with motion for the web (h.264), there’s a weird flickering effect on the cross dissolves. Never had an issue like this before.
INFO:
FCP 6, Sequence is in Apple Pro Res 422, 29.97 FR- Compressing to: h.264, keyframe every 30 frames, restricted to 5000 kbs, de-interlaced.Thanks so much.

Why do you set that value?

I keyframe every 30 frames because the video frame rate is at 29.97 fps.

The time-base has no relation with the number of k-frames you need to set for a good compression.Set “Multi-pass” and “Key-frames: AUTO”.
The “Multi-pass” process will set the key-frames where needed.
You are restricting already the data-rate; restricting the k-frames won’t help.
