    Hi Guys,
I’m rendering out a simple 3d text animation with a seamless white background. I’ve enabled Ambient Occlusion in the Render settings, I have 2 lights without the shadows enabled. When I render out, I get some flickering in the shadows. How can I resolve this….thanks.

The flickering is caused by too-low samples in the AO, but you have to really jack them up to avoid flickering altogether. I would advise baking the AO if it isn’t affected by the animation. You might also be able to render out a separate AO pass and apply a little blur in post.

i’m having the same issues but on my objects as well. if you are using an object as your seamless background try adding a phong tag to the object and then turn down the angle to like 60 or less. i’m using a light array and am getting the same type of thing and that seems to clear it up quite a bit. if thats the only object you have in your scene that might do it.

but i’m willing to bet that there’s way more to it than just that. i don’t know though and was hoping a master out there could help us as i’m having the same issue.
