    HI all,

this is one i’ve not seen. Just got a new MacPro with Leopard and CS3, 10gb RAM.

I’m moving a font with position keyframes from one side of the screen to the other.

Yet when it appears and moves, the fonts flickers between the normal font and a default font, as if it’s flickering between arial and garamond.

i validated the font in Font book and found that it’s doing to other fonts as well…

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

I haven’t seen this either. Have you tried purging your cache under Edit > Purge?

Other than that the only thing I can suggest is restarting your computer!

yea, i tried that….it’s a font that i received from a client. The font is acually named after the client, that type of thing…i’m wondering if it’s a Leopard thing, because it worked on my G5.

    oh well…i just re-created in Illustrator…gotta roll with the punches i guess…

    very odd…

if it’s not a problem with leopard and cs3, and you’ve rebooted, the only thing i can think of trying is to place the font in another font directory. osx has 3 font directories:

    1. library/fonts
    2. system/library/fonts
    3. users/username/library/fonts

i usually install fonts in the library/fonts directory, i leave the system/library/fonts just for system fonts, and i have yet to add fonts to the user-fonts directory, but trying any of them may be worth while…

    Weird.

If you have time, are you able to contact the font designer, to see if they’ve done anything unusual when creating the font, or when porting it to Mac?
