    Hi all,

I’m editing a documentary, and have been having a strange problem. Every now and then, there’s a flicker in the footage – as if the screen is slightly more illuminated than usual for about half a second. It does this every time I add lower thirds, for the duration of the lower third, and now it’s also doing it somewhat randomly throughout. I can’t figure out what the problem is, or how to fix it.

Sometimes I randomly turn autokerning and/or subpixel on or off (in the text control settings), and this arbitrarily fixes the problem, but only temporarily. The problem is back when I open the project again.

    Thoughts?

    Sarah

Check the motion tab to make sure the text is positioned on whole integers, ie; not with decimal points.

Obviously you are rendering the shots with supers and looking on an external monitor.
