flicker in exported FCP?!
So here is my situation:
i am working with HD for the first time. Shot on mini DVs in HD 1080i and captured with Apple intermediat Codec 50 (AIC50). Im now exporting the project in AIC50 format as well and it has an inconsistent black flicker from time to time throughout the whole 16 minutes video.
after doing research, apparently a FLICKER has been a common problem that has not been figured out. is there an update to this flicker problem?
one suggestion is the issue with AIC50 being contrary to frame rate the footage is in. 29.97 is the fps of the raw footage 1440×1080. he suggested the only option might be to recapture. God forbid that is the case.
i’m running on barrowed time now and would love to solve these issue and crank out this video.

just solved the problem by exporting in AIC60 (apple intermediate codec 60). yay for not recapturing!
