I’m doing some document moves in CS3. I’m getting a flicker in the final renders. If I step through it, it looks like you can suddenly see the fields for one frame.

It’s an HD comp and I can see the flicker if I render a DVCProHD comp and downconvert it to my SD broadcast monitor.
It is also showing up in a HD50i comp that is rendered avid DNxHD and viewed in an HD suite.

I’ve isolated the document layer completely in a new comp and the flicker remains. There are no ‘effects’ on the layer at all. It is not always at the same place in the rendered file. I’ve found the flicker does go away if I make it a 2D layer. Unfortunately, I do need to do 3D moves on these documents.

I’ve done these a million times in the past without incident. Any idea where this anomaly is coming from?

Motion blur on or off seems to have no effect.

Thanks for the tip! I appreciate it more than I can tell you.

It worked for the most part. On a couple, the playback of the ‘non-fields’ doubled frames is a bit jerky. I may just have to lessen the 3D tilt on those till I can get a field render with no flickers.
I certainly feel better knowing what the problem is now though.

    Best Regards…
