Flicker
Posted by Rdub on September 1, 2010 at 9:30 pmI have a Vista 64 system, 12 gig of memory,1 gig on the nvidia card and an I7 2.8 ghz processor.
My movie “flickers (?)” when rendered. What should I look at?

September 1, 2010 at 10:27 pmHi Bill,
If you are using Multiprocessing, this could cause your texture maps to be lost during the multiprocessing render. To fix this, import your texture maps into After Effects first, then apply them as a Layer Map. Then, apply the Layer Maps onto materials, and apply the materials onto your objects. After applying the Layer Maps, you should be able to render the movies out without the flickering.
Best,

September 2, 2010 at 6:42 pmTurns out one of the layer maps is now fine but one of the others still flickers. They are both .tga images as layer maps.

Try turning off Multiprocessing and doing the render again. With Multiprocessing disabled, you should be able to render without the the flickering.
Best,
