I have a Vista 64 system, 12 gig of memory,1 gig on the nvidia card and an I7 2.8 ghz processor.

My movie “flickers (?)” when rendered. What should I look at?

    Hi Bill,

If you are using Multiprocessing, this could cause your texture maps to be lost during the multiprocessing render. To fix this, import your texture maps into After Effects first, then apply them as a Layer Map. Then, apply the Layer Maps onto materials, and apply the materials onto your objects. After applying the Layer Maps, you should be able to render the movies out without the flickering.

    Best,
    Edward

Thank you. I’ve imported into AE, now I’m lost.

I have applied layer map 1 to one of the graphics but am unable to apply a different layer map to one of the other images.

Think I might have it working.

Turns out one of the layer maps is now fine but one of the others still flickers. They are both .tga images as layer maps.

    Hi Bill,

Try turning off Multiprocessing and doing the render again. With Multiprocessing disabled, you should be able to render without the the flickering.

    Best,
    Edward

Seems to have fixed the flicker but of course it takes longer to render.
