  Flashing pixels in playback

  I’m having trouble with FCP flashing random square different-colored pixels during playback off of the timeline, they’re driving me crazy. They are NOT on the original tape, they do NOT remain on the time line for any consistent length of time. If I back up the playhead they will sometimes still be there, however, if I back the playhead up even further and play that segment again, they will disappear and the playback is clean – until they pop up somewhere else. I could live with it, except these little anomolyies also print to tape. Any ideas?
