I am getting lots of problems with certain parts of my models flashing in final renders. (as though the renderer is undecided about whether it is in light or shade).

I have been changing phong settings, altering shadow maps etc but cant seem to solve the problem.

the model is a quite complex vehicle and the camera is moving quite slowly past it, I’ve got 2 lights, and a bit of fog in the scene.

any ideas about how to solve this?

    cheers,
    Neil

Is there double geometry somehow? Like 2 car bodies occupying the same space?

    cheers,
I think some of the more violent flashing is due to double geometry, not exact duplicate objects but just very close surfaces.

There is a different less obvious flickering to a lot of the surfaces – i think this is due to the reflections, I’m gonna have to do a load more test renders.
If you have any other thoughts do let me know,

    thanks,
    Neil
