Hello. I am exporting a one minute video for a website. I exported an Animation file that I dropped into Adobe Flash Encoder. I used the OnV 6 (I think that’s right) encoding and set the data rate to 1200.

The web designer said the file isn’t working. She got this error:

“This type of FLV video (not Flash MX format) can only be imported without re-encoding. Do you want to import this video as it is without re-encoding”

Any info on what Flash encoding is best (most compatible) for the web?

Isn’t that ‘error’ message basically saying that you don’t have to re-encode the video. In other words it should work fine as it is?

[Chris Heuer] “Do you want to import this video as it is without re-encoding” “

    I’d say ‘Yes’ to that.

Agreed, re-encoding a already encoded video will only result in loss of quality. Flash MX recognizes the video is in a acceptable format and shows this in a alert box. Nothing to be worried about.
