December 18, 2008 at 8:03 pmIs there something about “file>export>Quicktime Movie” or “file>export>Export using Quicktime Conversion” that eludes you?

December 18, 2008 at 8:13 pmhi and thnx for the reply…but yea I guess so…I do not see any export to flash option available. I have looked in my Library/Quicktime and no flv or anything that looks like flash component in there. I have searched the web and cannot find a flv component to place in my Library/QuickTime folder. How did you get that component in yours? Do you have squeeze? or some other conversion plugin?
thnx again for the reply -

December 18, 2008 at 8:19 pmYou are correct – Final Cut Studio does not come with Flash encoding out of the box. You need to purchase a third party application to encode Flash video, whether it’s Sorenson Squeeze, Telestream Episode or Adobe Flash (with Flash Video Encoder).
Here’s a link to a relatively inexpensive encoder you might try:

December 19, 2008 at 6:41 pmHit versiontracker.com, too. There are some transcoders, some cheap or free, that can output to .flv. However, you can also investigate the many many formats that Flash Player will handle. You can output to H.264 and the more recent Flash Players will simply open it. Older versions, all you do is change the .mov extension to .flv.
If this is going to be a regular task for your business, invest in a good encoder. Lots of folks have gone to Flash Player as their only platform for Web video.
