flash detection and express install scripts?

i only got audio on my safari osx box – can you describe what your desired goal is and what isn’t happening in that goal?

My client was showing the website to someone and apparently the machine did not have Flash or possibly didn’t have version 8 so the content was blank. There is an flv with playback controls so Flash 8 is required. I watched a tutorial at lynda.com on implementing flash detection scripts using the kit from macromedia. But when a friend tried to view it on his laptop which doesn’t have Flash it did not prompt him to install Flash.

ok – tried on windows ie and i get the video but i also get a series of script errors. that is probably your culprit. try enabling script errors in ie…
