I am hoping someone here works with both programs because I am having trouble with the AVI export from Flash.

I have an animation sequence that I want to export as a video so I can use it in the timeline in Vegas. But the AVI file that I export only shows up as audio in Vegas, or rather it shows up as A/V but the video only shows a blank white screen.

Has anyone dealt with this scenario before or got similar results?

    Thanks

Flash 4 compatible/no sprites should have you going.

If you just can’t get Flash to export the movie you want, you might try using Camtasia or another screen movie application to make a screen movie that you can put on the timeline in Vegas. I’ve done this when I wanted to “simulate” some of the interactive elements of the flash movie in my .avi file to use in Vegas.

It’s funny you mention that, because that’s what I ended up doing. I used “CamStudio” a freeware version.

However, I am now running into another problem. I import the .avi file and it seems to work fine in the preview, although there is a quirk: the color is a little wacky. I don’t know how to describe it so i’ve attached a snapshot. it seems to go off-color with some of the movement.

I think there is an incompatibility with the video codec or recording settings because not only am i getting an off-color thing, when i go to render, I get a black screen, mostly. The first few frames showed fine and then it went to black, but the other active latyers displayed properly.

I attaching another screenshot of some of the video options i have with this program.

Unfortunately, now i’m on deadline and i need to solve this very soon.

If I was having this issue, I would try to capture it with no compression. “uncompressed” is an option in my version of the program. I might also experiment with the other codecs listed.

I just did this with a flash movie and I used the techsmith codec. You might try re-downloading the codec from the techsmith website. You might not have the most current version.

    Good luck.
