fixing the moire on these motion effects
I have a jpg of a resume, scanned at high resolution (300), which I’ve imported into PPro 1.5 and am putting motion effects on. The first keyframes put the image at a relatively small scale with no rotation or movement, and the last keyframes go up to a larger scale with some slight rotation and movement.
The end result is a nice looking effect, but there are what look like waves rolling through the letters and the image overall–I’m assuming it’s a moire effect. I tried putting some Gaussian blur on the jpg in PS with no improvement, and then combinations of that with changing field options (anti flicker, reverse dominance etc). I even tried reducing the overall size of the original image and starting from there. So far, none of these solutions have had any significant impact on how bad the “waves” are.
Any suggestions?

One concern is that you may be viewing a bad preview…have you rendered before preview?. Also 300 dpi is WAY TOO much for video…try resizing in PS to about 1200×900.

Thanks for the reponse Mike. Yeah, I rendered before previewing within PPro 1.5–still looked the same. I exported out as both avi and mpg–same problem–not even a “classic” looking moire–more like waves, rather than a flickering/vibrating look. Anyway, I tried reducing the size/resolution of the original image–still same problem.
I’ve done these kinds of motion effects on jpgs many times before and have always been able to resolve any resulting moire with either a reduction in size of the original image, Gaussian blur, changing the field options, or combinations of these things. So far–no luck at all. Any other ideas?
