  • Fixing distortion from using a very wide angle lens?

Posted by Eric Pas on October 5, 2016 at 4:13 pm

    Hello!

I shot a video using a 14mm lens. The subjects were on the left and right side of the frame. Because of this and the lens, they look a little distorted and weird.

Are there any suggestions on how to fix this or make it look a little better in editing with Premiere CC? I used a Canon 5D for filming.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

I tried that I think but I want to say it’s mainly for Go pro cameras? I can try to mess with it again though.

You may have found the Presets for Lens Distortion Removal, which are mainly GoPro and related.

If you just choose the Lens Distortion effect itself and play with the controls, you may find that it does what you want. However, you may need to crop the image a bit after un-warping it, and if your subjects are too close to the edge…

    Thankis
