    Hi,
I had a 58 min DVCPRO HD file and copy pasted 1 extra minute at the biginning of the file. Saved the file, and when I tried to open it again it is not recognized as a QuickTime movie. The only software that can open the file is VLC. Is there any way you know I can fix it or transcode it? I tried Episode, Mpeg Streamclip, Handbrake, VisualHub, etc. with no luck.
I guess I damaged the File Headers when saving. Any thoughts?
    Best,

VLC transcodes doesn’t it? Can’t you save it out as something else?

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reply. When I try to export the file with VLC it only does 1 or 2 min of an hour clip and then crashes. Those minutes you can open them with QuickTime.
I cannot save them as something else if I cannot open the file.
    Best,
