i have a shot with a grey wall on which there is a little white hook, which i want to get rid of. it’s very distracting. is there anything i can do to isolate a small area of the image and make it match the surrounding color? or simply make it dimmer?

    thanks in advance.

Duplicate the layer and place the duplicate above the original. On the duplicate, crop a small portion near the hook with a soft edge. Move that layer over to cover the hook. Season to taste.

CHV has a cute clone plugin that does this without the messy double layer, cropping etc.
