Fix for Calligraphy and BCC AE 4.1 on Mac Intel.
Hello All, Here is the fix for the compatibility problem between Calligraphy and BCC AE 4.1 on Mac Intel. This script will rename the BCC4 plugins so that Calligraphy can work properly with FCP 5.1.x. We suggest that you take the following steps to ensure that this fix will take effect.
1. Uninstall BCC. Delete BCC from the Applications folder and from FCP’s Plugins folder (located – HardDrive-Library-Application Support-Final Cut System Support-Plugins)
2. Then delete the Final Cut Pro OBJ cache (located – Hard Drive-Users-you-Library-Preferences-Final Cut Pro User Data)
3. Restart the machine.
4. Re-install BCC according to which of the categories below applies to your method of installation of BCC.
FOR EXISTING DOWNLOAD CUSTOMERS. If you a have a downloaded Try and Buy version of BCC, make sure you have the latest version. If not, we recommend you download a new copy to ensure that you are indeed using the latest version. (see link “A” below) Now, download and run the script from link “C” below. This will only take a second or two to run then a window will appear with the word “done” in it. At this point you should be all set. There is no need to do the “CAP LOCKS” trick anymore. You can launch FCP as you have done before.
FOR CD CUSTOMERS. If you have a CD copy of BCC, re-install BCC from your CD, then download and run the “Continuum Complete AE 4.1 CD patch” )see link “B” below. Now, download and run the script from link “C” below. This will only take a second or two to run then a window will appear with the word “done” in it. At this point you should be all set. There is no need to do the “CAP LOCKS” trick anymore. You can launch FCP as you have done before.

Kudos to the Boris team for locating and solving this issue.

I don’t see mention of Graffiti 5 in your post. Would this script be helpful for that as well? Or is this script application specific?

Dan, This fix is just for BCC and Calligraphy. What sort of problem are you having with Graffiti 5?

when i “removed attributes: filters” from a clip with a bcc4 filter applied, there was no image change. Upon opening the clip’s filter’s panel, FCP crashed. There was also a Title 3d clip above the image clip on the timeline.

It won’t load into Final Cut on my Mac Pro. I was told a patch was being worked on at Boris that will resolve the problem. I was hoping this script might be the fix.
