Hello everyone
I have been a long time premiere editor and I just want to pose a question that may sound silly but please be understanding because only recently I started getting information about Avid Editing: what kind of a pc is required to work well with avid software? My workstation is an Intel P4 3.06 GHz Hyperthreading with 1 Gb of Ram and SATA hard disks. Would it work OK with, let’s say, Avid Express Pro? Does it require a video card for realtime export and encoding to DVD? Would my Matrox rt.x 100 xtreme pro work with Avid Xpress Pro or is the whole avid system a totally different approach than the one I’ve been working on so far? To me it seems like Premiere Pro is a great software combined with my Matrox but I really want to know what the fuss is about from every editor with Avid. Please be kind enough to reply, it would be a great help to me.
