  First Time HD Edit

  Hey guys I’m experimenting with HD, my dirst edit, and i have several questions, but before I’ll specify the gear I’m using:
  G5 (Dual 2.3), lots of RAM, FCP, MADEA 1/2TB Raid drives, footage shot with a VariCam, using Panasonic 1200A deck (using the 1394) blackmagic card but not an HD just SD.

  NOW questions: Anything upfront i need to know about? as far as lower or upper field first? final product will be 4:3 SD, so should i just digitize it SD already, or convert in FCP? CODECS? how to safely dub this to DVD for TV Stations? Anything else i should know?

  This is my very first time editing HD so any and all information is super helpful.

  p.s. the raid drives have a few spots still in them, should i clean up the drives first?
