Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Expressions first derivative

  • Posted by Arne Münch on January 23, 2010 at 7:33 pm

    hi
does anybody know how to use expressions to get the first derivative of an animated property. Which means a value, that tells me how fast the original value changes at a specific point of time.

I have an tracked object, the speed of its tracking point should set the strength of a blur effect of another object.
any ideas how to do that with expressions?

    thank you for any help…

Check out the speed and velocity methods in “Property attributes and methods” and see if they do what you want.
