    For laptop editing, does anyone have any thoughts of esata cards and drives vs firewire? Does the extra speed you get thru esata really matter since the bottleneck to me sounds like it’s going to be the hard drive right? (I have a 1 TB hitachi 7200 rpm drive) Thanks.

    Fire wire will give you around 30 MB/s, eSATA around 90. Unless you have 2 fire wire ports on your notebook, better use eSATA, unless you want to forfeit capturing.
