I am having a “Print to Video” problem in FCP 4.5

I am capturing DV from a Sony DSR-11, via Firewire, and have had no problems capturing since purchasing my system back in June. However, I am attempting to archive several of my projects on DV to free up space.

When attempting to do a Print to Video from FCP, everything runs smoothly…the machine automatically begins recording, etc. But when I roll the tape back, nothing is there. I have checked and rechecked my settings in “Audio-Video Settings” and “AV Devices” and have Firewire-Out across the board, but to no avail.

Am I missing something? BTW, I have an AJA Kona LS card, could this be a Kona issue affecting the output via Firewire? Or maybe an incorrect setting elsewhere?

    I’m stumped. Thanks.

I have had this happen to me. Please go into your AV settings and go to the AV devices tab.

There is a checkbox in there that says “different output on on edit to tape/print to video. Make sure this is not check and that your output device is APPLE FIREWIRE (720×480) and FIREWIRE DV.
