    Here’s my dilemma:
I’ve got a new 300g Seagate firewire/udb drive. When I format it and write to it on a Mac (Quad G5) it’s not recognized when connected to a WinXP PC. When I format the drive in WinXP, it IS recognized by the G5, but I can’t write to it – no permissions. However, re-format it on the Mac and it’s writeable.

So…I reformat the drive in Windows & create 2 partitions, but don’t format the second partition. Same problem – the G5 will mount and recognize, but no write access. Plus the drive appears as a single partition.

I guess the word at this point is HELP…

Thanks to all, but I figured it out. Solution is posted on the FCP forum.
