    Hi,
I am using Apple G5 with Final Cut Pro 5.1.I am connecting a GRaid firewire 800 drive to Apple G5 rear firewire 800 connector and connecting Panasonic 455E with firewire card to front 400 firewire connector.
But when I am starting FCP it does not detect the DVCPRO and hangs.
Sometimes GRaid is also not detected by the OS.
I have tried deleting the.pref files etc but no use.
    Am I missing something…
    Thanks
    Harcharan

Its a common phenomenon as there is just a single firewire bus which sometimes creates or reacts unfavorably to conflicts among devices. Try unplugging the hard drive and rebooting to get the deck recognized first by itself. Then, connect the hard drive and turn it on. That, often works.
