Thanks but my camara is reading the firewire, its my computer that isnt.

I would guess it might be a problem with QT. This is pretty common post here. I would think you are using a small mini dv camera as a deck. If you are try this a possible fix.

Thanks for the help, I tried this and it’s still not working. My comp is recognizing the firewire bus but final cut is not recognizing the FW. I think I’m going 2 try it on a different make to see if maybe it’s the firewire itself that is damaged…….
