Firestore w/ Media 100 question
Hey guys!
I use a Media 100i version 8.2.1 w/ the old Vincent card on a Mac G4. I’m thinking of getting a Firestore drive to shoot footage on and wondered if it’s easy to use w/ my system. I’m assuming that the drive would connect to my computer via firewire and would just look like another, external hard drive. Is this true? Also, what format would the files need to be recorded as for Media 100 to see & import them? I have to assume a lot of you guys are using Firestore drives these days so I thought I’d ask. Eliminating the process of digitizing footage is really appealing to me. I work for a university and our budgets are always really tight so (gear wise) I’m behind the times. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess for me to fully realize the benefits that these Firestore units provide, an upgrade is in order.
