  • Firestore clips have audio out of sync

I shot a video yesterday with the Panasonic HVX200 in DVCPRO HD 720p30, using the FS-100 Firestore for storage. When I capture the clips using FCP 6.0, the audio is off (even in the Viewer – before dragging to a timeline). It appears the video is faster than the audio, as the gestures and lip movements of the subjects on camera do not appear normal. The dialogue for each clip starts out synced to sound, then quickly falls behind the video. I’ve even opened the QT files in Finder, and they are off. I have tried changing the timeline settings to no avail (changing editing timebase, and redragging the clips in, etc.). The vid rate showing in the Browser is 29.97fps and the compressor is DVCPRO HD 720p60. Please advise, thanks.

In the Log and Transfer window, the video previews just fine, with no sync issues. Sometimes the one-hour clip shows just one file to import. When this one completes, it shows one 4GB file in Finder, but the Quicktime (and timeline) file only shows a light grey screen. When I tried importing again, it had broken it up into about two dozen clips, but those are the ones with sync probs.

I found a setting that had a check box checked – “Remove duplicate frames”. Unchecked it, okay now.
