Firestore 100 – won’t ‘play clip’
Posted by John Rosson on June 24, 2010 at 6:27 pmFolks,
I cannot seem to get my FS 100 to ‘play clip’ in conjunction with my HDX900.
Googling presents no answers.
Anyone w/experience mind walking me through?
Thank you,

June 25, 2010 at 6:55 amHDX900 is firewire out… it does not take a signal in via firewire. If you are trying to playback clips from your FS into the HDX to view… it won’t work.

June 25, 2010 at 1:48 pmScott, thank you for that.
Unfortunate — and puzzling. Tape plays back in the viewfinder — but I suppose that’s somehow an internal function, and not thru the firewire? -

June 28, 2010 at 1:52 pmThe process of playing back from the heads and the FS-100 is very different. The handshake protocol for the FS does not exist in the camera, I know on paper it sounds pretty staright forward but its actually apples and oranges. You would need a laptop to view your content.

June 30, 2010 at 4:04 pmYes, the FW bus on the camera is just an output and not an input. I think that is weird to do on Panasonic’s part… seems simple enough that you could input into the cam thru FW… but who knows.
Likely a missing feature that keeps you buying more Panny cameras down the road!
