I’m looking to add a slight wobble / distortion effect to the stroke of an image.

I’d like it to look a little like the heat flickering you might see through flames.

Like a subtle wobble or distortion, that modulates only slightly but very quickly.

Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

    Many thank,
    Jack

You can use the Displacement Map effect to get that heat wave look.

    turbulent displace may work too….

though if you do get displacement map to work, you may be able to further the effect by using the same ‘displacement map’ as a layer map for compound blur… just a thought.
