Ok, so I’m ready to do an online finish of my short film. Footage was shot on Varicam DVCPRO HD @ 24p and likewise captured the same way (960 x 720). I have a G5 2.0 GHZ with Kona 2. I have a Pro Max Raid 0 of 1 TB. I know this is close to ancient technology within these circles but I bought all the equipment nearly 3 years ago thinking I would finish the film myself. We’re using FCP 6.0 with Mac OS X 10.4.11. So we have a final cut of my film and we wish to do an online version so we could then master to HDCAM and DVCPRO HD. What do you recommend we should do? Do a recapture of the footage linked to the timeline using AJA 8 bit Uncompressed codec or the 10 bit? Do we use Media Manager’s “use existing” function to cut the footage down to only the media that the timeline references to save on space and time? We also did color timing in Color as a little side note. Please Help!!!
