  • Finished Film!!! BUT Time Code Generation off a few frames

So we finished our short film!!!

Now to give it to the sound guy we need to give him a copy with time code. So I took the sequence and made a new sequence and dragged our edited sequence into it so that I could put the time code on one long media clip.

The problem is that about 2 minutes in the time code starts to be different. I have both Final Cut’s internal time code, and then the time code generator I put on which is in effects.

By 14 minutes we are about 24 frames off. Anyone know what’s going on here?

Our project is 16:9 anamorphic NTSC DV video shot on a canyon XL-2.

Anyone that could help would be appreciated tremendously!

Sounds like one sequence is drop frame timecode and one is non-drop. Could that be it?
