I’m pretty new at this stuff and need a tad of help…

I have clips on the timeline in FCP, I pop into “Color” for some quick adjustments, but as soon as I get there I can see a noticeable difference between what the frame looked like in FCP and what it now looks like in Color.

Same going back to FCP. I get it how I like it in Color, but once back in FCP it doesn’t look the same.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

Footage is from JVC 100U, recorded at top settings to SD cards and then brought right into FCP.

    Thanks in advance

[Jimmy Stephans] “but as soon as I get there I can see a noticeable difference between what the frame looked like in FCP and what it now looks like in Color.”

Because you are most likely not using an external broadcast monitor or good HDTV connected via a capture card to the system. You are most likely judging the quality of your image using the CANVAS, and the COLOR Viewer window…and NEITHER of them shows you an accurate image. They are there for reference only.

If you use Color, you really need an HD capture card and HDTV or broadcast monitor. It isn’t designed to be used without one. It is a high end color correction app.
