can anyone tell me a quick way to find a render file associated with a clip .

I have lost a media file submitted by an animator. it had to be rendered and the render file is still active and playing, but to output i need to have a media file in the time line.

so I need to find the render file in my render folder.

unfortunately, I have hundreds of render files and would like to avoid looking at each and everyone of them to find the correct one.

Do they have names that can be tracked somehow?

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

Easiest way is to unrender the clip in the timeline and force a new render. Sort the rendered folder by date.

No idea what you mean “it’s still playing.” Oh, wait, you got the file. You put it into the timeline and then threw away (or, as you say, “lost”) the original? It should be in your Browser. It should be on your drive where ever you store crucial elements. If it’s running in the timeline, put i/o on it and export it self contained.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
