Is there a way to find UNUSED clips in a project?
a column like the ‘in use’ column in DVD Studio Pro would be good.

I want to be able to done the equivalent of the Avid action, where I:
    select one or more sequences,
select (forgot the actual phrase) referenced clips,
invert selection (to select unused clips/media)

then I can delete or manage as appropriate …

    with thanks.

Use the Find function. Edit > Find. Then choose Unused media from the pop up menu there. Does that do what you want?

Cool trick, now you can highlight them all in the find results and change their label color by right clicking. The label will change on all instances in the bins.

BTW – before you delete any “unused” clips, beware that the find unused funciton ignores nested sequences. If you have any nested sequences make sure you drag them to a bin and include them in your find selection.

I found this post and it did answer my initial question of how to find unused media. I read all three posts and aware it does not find nested sequences. I am leary it is telling me incorrect info…

My project is broken down into 7 sequences… 6 for individual chapters and the 7th to nest them all. All sequences exist in the same bin. I highlighted all 7 and asked for unused media. It is giving me back a lengthy list and after careful examination I noticed there are psd files listed I know for certain are being used. This concerns me cause I don’t want to delete stuff being used.

I am about to master the project to Beta and will soon delete all capture scratch, but in the meantime I really need to make space on the terabyte by deleting all unused media.

Could you please tell me if I missed a step or doing it incorrectly?

    Thank you!
