  • Find sequence clip in project

I’m an editor, more comfortable working in Premiere/Final Cut, editing my first Avid project (inherited from another editor) and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to select a clip in a sequence and find where it is in the project. What am I missing? Any help would be much appreciated.

Match frame the clip (this loads it in the source monitor). Then you want “Find in bin”. You can map both “Matchframe” and “Find in Bin” to your keyboard. In my case, I hit F2 then Shift+F.

Alternatively, you can select just that track in the sequence, hold down the option key and hit the find in bin button (Or map it)

“Find bin” will find and hilight the sequence. Option/ALT “Find Bin” will find clip of active track.
