Find frame in image sequence
This is a question that the internet hasn’t answered yet. If we import an image sequence can we find any spesific frame (for example the frame of an “in point”) without doing any math (because I figured one could use the timecode to find the distance between the frame he wants to find and the first frame and thus locate the frame)?
The question arrises because I want to send the special effects person spesific part of a shot so he can work on it without making an export.

If you set your Video Display Format to “Frames” then you can just put the playhead on the frame you’re looking for and note that value. If you do that in the source monitor, the value will be absolute to the source clip. If you do it in the program monitor, it will be relative to the sequence.
It may still require some math in certain scenarios but will be way easier than converting timecode yourself. Another trick, if ti works for your case, is to apply the timecode effect and set it to show frames. Files can be exported that way so that timecode (or in this case frame-code) will be burned in for easy and unambiguous reference.
