    Is there a way to “find and replace” information in the browser? I have a large number of clips that were captured from the same reel but given different names by different interns (i.e., Reel_01, Reel 01, and Reel01). Is it possible to do this is one fell swoop?

    Thanks.

    FCP will not allow you to do this. The reel name is actually part of the QT file, and when you change it in FCP’s browser it will change it in the QT file as well.

    You need to have at least one clip with the reel name you wish to use.
    Given that (manually change one clip first, if you don’t) multi-select all the clips you wish to correct, even if they have different reel names;
    right/control click the Reel Name of one of those clips;
    select the correct name from the list that appears;
    they’ll all be changed after you say YES to the pop up question.

    Its very quick ‘n’ easy.

    Hope that helps.

    Neil.
