  • Final output MPEG4: In what compression format should I work?

    Hello People,

I am devising a work flow on a Dual 2GHz G5 and have to buy some equipment and it is important that I choose the right compression settings for when I am editing on FCP 5( I have to buy a video card for my external monitor.. which I also still have to buy).

I will work with stills mainly. Making slide shows with zooms and spans transitions and so on.. So it would be nice to preview the work without rendering it all the time (which is what would happen in the unlikely event of editing while on MPEG-4 compression).

The final movie output format will be MPEG-4( As I am outputting European HD).
Does anyone know what compression settings are best to use while editing?
David (Jones) suggested uncompressed.. sadly it only works on SD settings and not HD.

    Thanks for your help again.

    Riccardo
