Final Cut X capturing mini DV tape
Hello,
I have been capturing some footage from a mini DV tape thru a camera connected via firewire once I stop import how long should it take before I can edit or view the footage? Is there a render process, my footage is an hour long

You can edit and view immediately. Depending on your settings, FCPX may transcode the clip in the background to ProRes.
