March 20, 2009 at 2:31 pmYeah. I have been there. What happens is even if I click on say “2008-3” updated, when I type in my serial it sends me to a page that only has “2008-5” update.
I would love to call FCS support to see if they can help. But the last time I called them, the wanted to charge me $200 to tell me to trash my prefs and clear my PRAM.
Can anyone offer some suggestions on how to get support from Apple without forking out the $$ ?
Thanks for all of your suggestions so far. Please keep them coming.

……… I was forced to reinstall Final Cut because it was crashing 20 times a day. However, now Final Cut will not update to 6.05. It’s stuck at 6.0.Does FCP 6.0 run without crashing?
Cheers

March 27, 2009 at 5:39 amDid you try running the ‘2008-5’ update? May be that’s all is required to update FCP from 6.0 to 6.0.5

April 2, 2009 at 3:47 pmHere is the link on downloading other Pro Apps Updates
https://support.apple.com/downloads/Pro_Apps_Updates_2008_001_004
you could try Pacifist application to open the installer and get the installer for only FCP 6.0.5
Pacifist 2.5.2 is a shareware application that opens Mac OS X .pkg package files, .dmg disk images, and .zip, .tar, .tar.gz, .tar.bz2, and .xar file archives and allows you to extract individual files and folders out of them. This is useful, for instance, if an application which is installed by the operating system becomes damaged and needs to be reinstalled without the hassle of reinstalling all of Mac OS X. Pacifist is also able to verify existing installations and find missing or altered files*, and Pacifist can also examine the kernel extensions installed in your system to let you see what installer installed them, and whether the installer was made by Apple or a third-party.
Good Luck

June 9, 2009 at 5:12 amDid you move your FCS apps into a subfolder within the applications folder? That can cause the system update to miss out on the fact that FCS needs to be updated.

Phew! That did help me, I was starting to pull hairs in front of the machine. How dare I try to organize my applications into folders instead of one big pile…
