Final Cut won’t open
I’m on a MacBook Pro, using FCP 6.0.3. It was working fine, I quit FCP to unplug my external drive in order to plug in my camera to capture (both are using the 400 FW port and of course there is only one). And when I went to restart FCP, nothing happens. It just won’t open. I’ve deleted the preference files and folders (following directions on these threads) and it still won’t open. Any suggestions?

Thanks. That’s what I ended up doing. Seems to be the only thing worked. I would like to figure out why that happened so I can avoid it happening again in the future.

Probably had something to do with ripping your FW drive out of the socket while it was live. Perhaps it corrupted FCP. I always unmount drives , then power them down, before unplugging. Apple says you can hot patch FW drives, but I don’t trust that.
