The system is only a few months old and this is the first big project on it. I’m running Final Cut Studio 6.0.4

The sequence is a 20min HDV sequence set to render in ProRes. Everything was working fine for the first few weeks but I started getting random “Unexpected Quit” in Final Cut. I would have to use the autosave vault to restore the project since the original project would not retain the last manual save I did.

Now I can’t even export a quicktime (reference or movie) without FCP quitting. I do have success at times if I break the sequence up into to sections but this hasn’t narrowed down a bad section since it’s still random.

It will play back fine and thanks to the Kona3 I was able to at least burn an rough cut dvd.

The media is on a 4drive eSATA raid (0) using a CalDigit Fasta 4e card.

    So far I:
    Trashed the preferences
Yesterday I updated to 10.5.5 hoping that would help.
    Checked the ram configuration

I suspect it has something to do with ProRes

I have a DVCPRO HD project on it that exports fine however it was only a few minutes.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    An Update!

I was just able to export a Quicktime Movie (self contained) using the AJA 1080 60i ProRes instead of current settings.

    Well that didn’t last long.

I’m still getting the quits about half way thru an export.

    Any ideas?
