Final Cut Stuio 2 install fails
Trying to upgrade from Studio to Studio 2. All specs are fine, MacPro, OS 10.4.11. The upgrade fails repeatedly around disk 2 or 3 (SoundTrack Pro Audio Content). Message says to try installing again. I did have to stop the first install right after disk 2 had completed, because we needed to leave for the evening. Thought I could pick up where left off. I was unable to quit the installer however at that time.
What should I do?

Use Disk Utility to repair permissions on your boot drive. Then try again. Also, examine the discs for any dirt or scratches…could be something as simple as that.

thanks for the reminder… why do I tend to forget disk utility? It still hung up at the same disk installation attempt as previously, but after Disk Utility it allowed me to respond to onscreen windows to get past that snag point.
