As a post house that has been plagued by the lost render files in FCP6 (that the update claims to fix), I would also love to hear if anyone has run into any problems with the update/knows of any reasons to hold off on updating.

I can’t justify any reason NOT to update. The status quo (OSX 10.4.10 / FCP 6.0.1 / QT 7.2) is not in good shape at all. I’m updating now, will report any issues.

[walter biscardi] “we’ll run the updates but stay in Tiger for the moment”
It seems that the update is only for Leopard.

Wrong. It seems that is for the Tiger too. But when I run Software Update don’t shows up as an option.

I think you have to upgrade to 10.4.11 that just came out. Once you do that, the Final Cut update will appear.

You have to run the Tiger update, then the Pro Apps update will appear, which you have to run, then the application updates will appear.

    All the best,

    Tom

I’m also wondering about Quicktime, relative to OS 10.4.11 — do we have to go to 7.3 as well? I’ve heard some nasty things about folks having problems with 7.3…

Maybe I’ll upgrade it all on my laptop (not mission critical) and see how it flies.

I just told my director today about the render bug. Ya should’ve seen his face. Can’t wait to see his reaction when I tell him it’s fixed.

    Yay Apple.

    Best, JIM.
