  • Final Cut Speeded up my video.

This is my first post here. My problem is that I have a video that plays normal in QuickTime pro and soundtrack pro. When I bring it into the timeline the Audio stays normal but the video speeds up. When the video reaches the end it fills the rest with a black screen. When I export the video becomes normal when played in QuickTime.

I looked the problem up but can’t get any of the solutions to work. I tried restarting the computer, I tried deleting the preference list, I checked to see the ripple sequence was checked (it was.), and I checked the playback options in the settings panel for if playback was set to 100% (it was.).

So to recap Going into Final cut the video is normal. In final Cut, video is speed up. Exported out video is normal.

I am using a Mac Pro from early 2008, Final Cut Pro 7.0.3, QuickTime Player Version 10.0 (118), And Mac OS x Version 10.6.7, Processor 2×3 ghz ruad-core Intel Xeon, 4gb 800 mhz DDr2 fb-dimm

i would start off by making sure your footage codec and your timeline codec are the same.

I am running into the same issue and I tried what you suggested but it did not work.

The codecs for my footage and timeline are the same (DV/DVCPRO – NTSC); I created a new sequence, and when asked if I wanted to change the sequence settings to match the clip, I said yes.

The video is still speeding up. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Chris
