Is it possible to make Final Cut work on a project larger than 4k? We currently have a need for a project to 6480×1920. FCP is maxing out at 4k. We’re running FCP 7, if it matters.

    Thanks,
    Will

You can try it your self; nothing to loose.

Try it. I’m pretty, though, that FCP has a limit of 4096 pixels in either direction.

AE should be able to work with that size, though.

Is this for some kind of video wall? If so, you might try to do an “offline” at a smaller resolution that FCP will understand, then “online” in AE.

What are the limits on Motion or Shake? It’s pretty easy in AE or Combustion. Used to rely on it a lot to do camera moves on very large stills. Smoke for Mac?

Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

Depending on your graphics card, Motion is limited to 2k or 4k. AFAIK, there’s no limit in Shake.
