  • Final Cut Quicktime Exports only playing audio on other machines

I’m sure there’s a very easy answer to this, but my searches have not turned one up. I am exporting a full quality Quicktime file from my Final Cut Pro timeline, and it opens just fine on my Mac Mini in Quicktime X. However, when I bring it over to any other machine (Mac or PC) only the audio will play, even with updated Quicktime settings. I tried using Quicktime conversion instead on my export, and those movies play on any machine, but the files I am delivering need to be uncompressed. I am clicking “make movie self contained” on export, so I’m not just creating a reference file. Someone suggested that it was a codec in Quicktime that those who do not have Final Cut pro would not have, but I cannot assume that the team I am delivering the files to will have Final Cut, or even be working on Macs. Specs are in my signature.

    Mac Mini (Late 2009)
2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    OS 10.6.8
    Final Cut Pro version 6.0.6
