Final Cut Question!
Hi Guys,
I really appreciate any help you can give me. We are cutting a movie on two Final Cut Systems. They both have exactly the same media to work from. When we exchange sequences, why is it that sometimes the media reconnects no problem and other times you have to go through and reconnect lots of small sections separately? Is there anything I can do about this or is this how it works? -

Make sure the hard drives of both systems are named exactly the same. From your boot drive to your media drives.

And while you’re at it, make sure that the directory paths on both systems are the same. they need to have identical directory structures or oddly located files may not be found by FCP.
Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper can be helpful to keep the drives in sync.
